Environmental Policy

Last updated: May 2026 — Ya-Fatahoo Solutions Limited (trading as Pearl Security)

This Environmental Policy is issued by Ya-Fatahoo Solutions Limited (trading as Pearl Security), Company No. 16175087, registered at 249 Barnsley Road, Sheffield, England, S4 7AD. This policy applies to all employees, security officers and contractors working on behalf of Pearl Security. It is reviewed annually and reflects our obligations under the Environment Act 2021, Climate Change Act 2008 and all other relevant UK environmental legislation.

1. Statement of Commitment

Ya-Fatahoo Solutions Limited, trading as Pearl Security, recognises that our business operations have an impact on the environment. We are committed to conducting our business in an environmentally responsible manner — minimising our environmental footprint, reducing waste, improving energy efficiency and operating in full compliance with all applicable UK environmental legislation.

We recognise the UK government’s legally binding commitment to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 under the Climate Change Act 2008 (as amended) and we are committed to playing our part in meeting this national objective through continuous improvement in our own environmental performance.

As a security services company, our primary environmental impacts relate to vehicle use for mobile patrols and alarm response, energy consumption in our office operations and paper and waste management. This policy addresses each of these areas directly.

2. Legal Framework

This policy is established in compliance with the following UK environmental legislation and frameworks:

  • Environment Act 2021 — the primary UK environmental legislation establishing legally binding targets for air quality, biodiversity, water and waste reduction
  • Climate Change Act 2008 (as amended 2019) — establishing the UK’s net zero 2050 target
  • Environmental Protection Act 1990 — governing waste management and duty of care obligations
  • Clean Air Strategy 2019 — addressing air quality and vehicle emissions
  • Energy Act 2023 — energy efficiency and sustainability requirements
  • Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011 — waste hierarchy obligations

3. Our Environmental Objectives

Pearl Security commits to the following specific environmental objectives, which will be reviewed annually:

3.1 Vehicle and Fuel Management

Vehicle use for mobile patrols and alarm response represents our most significant environmental impact. Pearl Security commits to:

  • Planning patrol routes efficiently to minimise unnecessary mileage and fuel consumption
  • Maintaining all patrol vehicles to manufacturer standards to ensure optimal fuel efficiency
  • Considering lower-emission vehicle options when replacing or adding to our vehicle fleet
  • Encouraging officers to adopt fuel-efficient driving practices — smooth acceleration, appropriate speeds and minimising idling
  • Progressively moving towards electric or hybrid vehicles as operationally practicable and as charging infrastructure in South Yorkshire develops

3.2 Office Energy Consumption

Pearl Security commits to reducing energy consumption across its office and administrative operations by:

  • Switching off all non-essential electrical equipment when not in use
  • Using energy-efficient lighting and equipment where possible
  • Avoiding unnecessary printing — using digital communication and documentation wherever practicable
  • Reviewing energy consumption annually and identifying opportunities for further reduction

3.3 Waste Reduction and Management

Pearl Security commits to managing waste responsibly in accordance with the waste hierarchy — reduce, reuse, recycle — under the Environmental Protection Act 1990:

  • Reducing paper use through digital documentation, digital reporting and electronic communication
  • Recycling paper, cardboard, plastics and other recyclable materials in accordance with Sheffield City Council recycling guidelines
  • Ensuring all waste is disposed of responsibly and in compliance with our duty of care obligations
  • Avoiding single-use plastics where practicable

3.4 Supply Chain and Procurement

Pearl Security commits to considering environmental factors in procurement decisions:

  • Preferring suppliers and contractors who demonstrate a commitment to environmental responsibility
  • Selecting uniforms, equipment and consumables with consideration for environmental impact and longevity
  • Reviewing supplier environmental credentials as part of the procurement process where practicable

4. Responsibilities

4.1 Director — Muhammad Khan

  • Adopt fuel-efficient driving practices during mobile patrol and alarm response operations
  • Reduce waste and support recycling in all office and operational activities
  • Report any environmental concerns or incidents to the Director immediately

5. Environmental Incidents

Any environmental incident — including fuel or oil spillage from a patrol vehicle, improper waste disposal or any other activity that may cause environmental harm — must be reported to the Director immediately. Pearl Security will investigate all environmental incidents and take appropriate corrective action. Where required by law, incidents will be reported to the relevant regulatory authority.

6. Compliance and Legal Obligations

Pearl Security commits to full compliance with all applicable UK environmental legislation and regulations. We will monitor changes in environmental law and update our practices and this policy as required to maintain compliance. Where we identify any area of non-compliance, we will take immediate corrective action.

7. Communication and Awareness

We will ensure that all personnel understand their environmental responsibilities and are supported to fulfil them. We will set measurable environmental objectives, monitor our progress against those objectives and report on our environmental performance annually. Where we identify opportunities to improve our environmental performance beyond current requirements, we will act on them.
